Hi, I’m Jayne, a psychotherapeutic counsellor and hypnotherapist based on the Wirral. I offer a warm, professional and supportive space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted without judgement.

With over a decade of experience working with both young people and adults, I have developed a compassionate and grounded approach to therapy. I work with a range of issues including anxiety, trauma, ADHD, low confidence, and patterns of thinking or behaviour that can leave you feeling stuck.

My approach is primarily counselling-based and integrative, meaning we work together to explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Therapy can help you make sense of what’s going on beneath the surface, process difficult experiences, and begin to develop new ways of coping, relating, and moving forward.

Alongside counselling, I also offer hypnotherapy as an additional or standalone approach. Hypnotherapy can be particularly helpful for working more directly with the subconscious mind, supporting change in areas such as anxiety, habits, confidence, and emotional responses. We can decide together if and when this might feel useful for you.

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, struggling with persistent thoughts, or simply looking for a space to reflect and understand yourself more deeply, therapy offers a safe and confidential environment to do so.

I offer sessions from therapy rooms in Wallasey and Bromborough, as well as online or via telephone, giving you the flexibility to choose what feels most comfortable and accessible.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy, sometimes called hypnotic suggestion, is like unlocking a hidden superpower within your mind!  It's a form of therapy that uses guided hypnosis to help you reach a state of deep relaxation and focused attention.  Think of it as a mental spa, where you let go of everyday distractions and become more open to positive suggestion.

During hypnosis you enter a trance-like state similar to being deeply absorbed in a book or a film.  You're fully aware and in control, but your mind is open to positive suggestions and imagery.

What is Therapy?

Therapy is a space just for you — somewhere you can talk openly, feel heard, and not have to hold everything together.

It offers a calm and supportive environment where you can begin to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. You don’t need to have everything figured out; therapy is about taking the time to understand what’s happening for you in a way that feels safe and manageable.

Whether you’re dealing with difficult emotions, past experiences, relationship challenges, or the pressures of everyday life, therapy gives you the opportunity to slow down and make sense of things.

Therapy offers a safe, consistent and supportive space where young people can begin to make sense of what they are feeling and experiencing. It allows them to express themselves openly, feel heard without judgement, and develop a greater understanding of their inner world.  Through this process, they can begin to build emotional resilience, develop healthier ways of coping, and grow in confidence as they navigate challenges both now and in the future.

Hypnotherapy with young people is carefully adapted to reflect their developmental stage, personality and individual needs. I use a gentle, engaging and imaginative approach to help them feel at ease, supporting them to access a calm, focused state where positive change can begin.

Sessions are tailored to each individual and may incorporate storytelling, creative imagery, or elements drawn from their interests, alongside more structured techniques where appropriate. This helps the work feel natural, accessible and empowering.

I work collaboratively with parents or carers, ensuring the young person feels supported while maintaining a strong focus on their autonomy and experience within the sessions. The aim is to equip them with practical tools and internal resources they can carry forward with confidence.

Supporting young people at an early stage can have a meaningful and lasting impact on their emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sense of self.
